My Story
I photograph people, because they are the most fascinating subjects in the world. I’m the kind of photographer who can go to the Pyramids and return with just a handful of shots of the monuments, but dozens of candid moments of the people I encounter there. For me, the best photo is a slice of life—a tiny fraction of a second lived in a specific place and time that becomes, forever after, both a memory and a story, a small piece of history in the lives of the people captured.
This is the kind of photography that truly speaks to me. When I look back at my photos, I wonder how the years have treated those moments. I remind myself that I was present for a moment in the lives of the people I’ve photographed over the years. It brings a smile to my face to think that, in some small way, I may have helped them revisit those moments whenever they wish. That thought makes me feel good about what I do. I like that.
